What people come to talk about
Mental health support
When life feels heavy, a faith-based perspective and a listening ear can be the first step. We signpost professional help when it is needed and walk alongside you.
Spiritual healing and wellbeing
Reconnecting with Allah through salah, dhikr, Qur’an and dua, and practical steps for peace of mind. See the spiritual healing programme.
Marriage counselling
Before marriage, in difficulty, or considering separation. See marriage counselling.
Effective parenting support
Raising children with faith and calm in a London home. See Happy Parenting.
Faith and doubt
Questions you have been afraid to ask, struggles with practice, or coming back after time away. No judgement.
New to Islam
Shahadah, the basics, the community, and a friend who has been where you are.
How it works
- One to one with a Respected Imam
- Video, phone or WhatsApp
- Follow-up notes on request
Imam services, A to Z
Our Respected Imams and senior brothers offer far more than counselling. The full list is on the Respected Imam services page, from nikah advice and independent wakeel to aqiqah, funerals, wills and inheritance, zakah, dream interpretation, Qur’an and Arabic tuition, and mentoring. If it is not listed, just ask.
Please read
Talk to Imam offers faith-based guidance and pastoral support. It is not medical, psychological or legal treatment, and it is not an emergency service. Please continue treatment with your GP, specialist, consultant or psychologist. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 999. If you are struggling with thoughts of harming yourself, call NHS 111. Our safeguarding statement explains how we handle serious concerns.
Book your free 15 minute introduction
Pick a time that suits you and we will ring you on the number you give. No payment, no obligation, and no need to explain anything before the call. Available Monday to Thursday 10am to 7pm, Friday 2pm to 7pm, and Saturday and Sunday 3pm to 7pm.
Or send us the details instead
If you would rather write it down first, or you want a full 45 minute session rather than the introduction, use this form and we will come back to you within one working day.
Is Talk to Imam confidential?
Yes. What you share stays between you and the Respected Imam, except where someone is at risk of serious harm, in which case our safeguarding statement applies.
Can I speak to a female counsellor?
Yes. Choose “Female counsellor” on the form and we will arrange a session with a female member of the team.
Do I have to be in London?
No. Sessions are by WhatsApp, phone or video, so anyone in the UK or abroad can book. In-person sessions in London are possible by arrangement.
What if I cannot afford a session?
Tell us. No one is turned away for lack of means. The introduction is always free and fees are reduced or waived quietly.
How quickly can I get an appointment?
Usually within a few days. Book early to avoid a queue, and use the WhatsApp drop-in during opening hours, for anything that cannot wait.
