What we collect and why
- Account and profile data (name, email, phone, date of birth, location, profile answers and photos) to run the halal matching platform. Lawful basis: contract and, for religious and family details, your explicit consent.
- Conversation content on the matching platform, which is supervised and retained for safety and to meet our legal duties. Lawful basis: legitimate interests and legal obligation.
- Booking details for Talk to Imam, counselling and nikah services. Lawful basis: contract.
- Course progress to deliver courses and certificates. Lawful basis: contract.
- Order and delivery details for the shop. Payment card details are handled by our payment providers and never stored by us. Lawful basis: contract.
- Email address for daily reminders and updates. Lawful basis: consent. Unsubscribe in any email.
- Usage data through cookies and analytics, to improve the site. Lawful basis: consent for non-essential cookies.
Who we share it with
Our hosting, email, payment and video providers, who process data on our instructions. Statutory authorities where the law requires it or someone is at risk. We never sell personal data.
How long we keep it
Account data for as long as your account is active and up to 12 months after closure. Conversation records for up to 24 months for safety and legal duties. Order records for 6 years as required for tax. Email subscriptions until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, or withdraw consent at any time by emailing info@london-muslims.uk. You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
