Safeguarding Statement

Everyone who comes to London Muslims has the right to be safe.

London Muslims offers faith-based guidance, teaching and community support. We are not a medical, psychological or legal service and we do not provide emergency care. This statement explains how we keep people safe and what we do when a concern arises.

Our commitments

  • Volunteers and staff who work with children or vulnerable adults are identity checked and, where the role requires it, DBS checked.
  • Children’s Quran classes are held in groups, never one to one, and parents may sit in at any time.
  • The halal matching platform is strictly for adults aged 18 and over, with manual profile approval and Respected Imam supervision of every conversation.
  • Talk to Imam and counselling sessions are confidential, with one exception: where we believe a child or adult is at risk of serious harm, we will act, which may include contacting emergency or statutory services.
  • A named safeguarding lead reviews every concern and keeps a written record.

Raising a concern
